About The Strange Joy Site

If I were to describe with only one word what The Strange Joy site is about, that word would be Joy. But why strange?

Well, it is because we have a rather unusual angle. We want to show you in what unexpected places and situations there is joy to be found. We speak also about the regular, usual joy. But the “strange” joy is much more powerful. It lifts people out of depression, gives them great night sleep, heals them and fills them with energy.

Joy is healing. That has now been proven even scientifically.

Joy is available in unrestricted amounts for everyone.

Why not use Joy to strengthen immunity, ease pain, speed up recovery, improve relations, have a life worth living?

I decided to learn how to leverage Joy in my life. I started a new habit of consciously noticing Joy in the reality of life. Joy has been working wonders for me since then.

Due to using Joy as my daily medicine, I have much higher quality of life now in my late fifties than I ever had in my thirties.

When asked if I feel happy, my answer is always a confident YES.

If asked whether I wanted my children to be like me when they grow, my answer is again positive. Because I know they would be happy then.

A decade or so ago, I would have given negative answers. I would say that I wanted my children to be happier than me. Now I can simply say: “See, I live with Joy. Just do the same, and you will be happy, too!”

I am free from addictions.

I can sleep whenever I touch my pillow.

Since the time when I started my new habit, I haven’t had any virus worth mentioning. Well, I have had running nose or cough for a couple of days now and then. But it is never too heavy, and it goes over without using any medications apart from warm tea, berries and fruit.

My relations with other people have improved a lot. I am warm, empathic, helpful. People appreciate that. All the interaction gets much more enjoyable this way.

I never feel any urge whatsoever to do anything just for show.

I never feel any urge to use bad words in my language.

I never feel any urge to humiliate anybody.

I never feel any urge to belittle others or their contribution in order to emphasize my own significance.

My sleep is tight. All nightmares are gone long since.

I feel comfortable in silence. I can spend hours in silence and enjoy it.

I feel great in my own company. I can spend hours in silence with my own self and enjoy it.

I can feel genuine joy for other people’s success, and I can celebrate it down to my deepest deep.

I never feel jealous, and I can’t even visualize what could possibly make me feel like that. I love people, and I want them to succeed, to be happy, to feel pleasure. I don’t own anybody, so I don’t have to worry about them having the life of their own. I don’t need necessarily to be part of their success, happiness, pleasure. I don’t have such an imperative. Much more important for me is the fact that they ARE successful, happy and feeling good.

Well, I heard a speech of a Buddhist monk describing Love exactly like that. My only question remained whether it is absolutely necessary for one to become a Buddhist monk to be able to see a simple reality like this.

I know it may sound like telling tales. But why not try for yourself?

Burden free life is real. It is like cleaning your house. There are many useless things that you don’t have enough heart to throw out because they feel like something valuable. But they are not.

Some examples of burdens that some people may view as values would be these: grudge, unforgiving, owning something, hating somebody, being ungrateful, being arrogant, lies, being double-faced, failing to love, etc.

These are not values. Those are junk. They just take up space in us and block Joy from flowing.

I threw them out, all of them. I don’t have energy for carrying them. I am not a very strong person.

On the one hand, I am not strong enough to carry useless burdens, on the other hand, I don’t see why anyone should keep Joy out of their lives by keeping their hearts stuffed with junk.
