About the button – healthy fools – clever and sick – how it works for me – what to do if it does not work for you
What The Button Is
Did you know there is a “button” for toggling health on and off? Can you believe that even the worst of conditions start to withdraw when that button is pushed? I can’t promise you how soon or late your health will be restored. I felt a relief right away. I felt like some gradual process of improvement had been triggered.
A word of caution would be though not to expect perfection. There can still be days when you feel down. You can still have sore throat now and then, or a headache, or cold.
The “button” is, in fact, only one brave decision.
I was constantly sick and depressed. But then I took the DECISION. It was some five or seven years ago, I don’t keep record of exact times. But since then, I feel just wonderful. The pain is gone from my back. Viruses don’t take me anymore. If I catch cold, it usually leaves within one day. In some very severe cases, combined with tiredness and debt in sleep, it can last one and a half or, at the very worst, two days. And I also have a few down to earth hacks that help me to alleviate symptoms, should those become bothersome.
But the decision is not easy, indeed. It may require giving up everything in what you have believed so far. It may require to start living by values that are completely different from those you have lived by the whole life.
Are you now prepared to hear what kind of decision that is? Then, please, read on. But be patient. It is important to get the right understanding. You really need to understand what you are doing. You can’t press just any “button”. You need to hit precisely the right one.
Happy Fools
Research And Test
Let me start my explanation with a discovery made by professor Mirzakarim Norbekov in an extensive research comparing the mindset of healthy people with that of long-term sick. What he reports works sobering on me.
The one test group was people who were healthy or getting well quickly after being sick. Prof. Norbekov calls them fools or idiots, and he would himself belong to that group. Those are the people whose mood is always above their physical state. Does that give you a clue?
Yes, I tried this, and it worked for me. It worked perfectly. It worked unexpectedly well. I felt my overall health gradually improve. For many years, I haven’t been sick a single time.
I don’t brag. I don’t make guesses how long that may last. I can, of course, fall sick some day again. But at the moment I can report many years, I think more than seven, that I haven’t had a single incident of sickness. Apart of that, I have the feel that I will be able to get well soon if anything happens. Such a feel and such a confidence I did not have before I took the important decision.
All in all, our mood has strong impact on our health. We can’t work us into great health and then receive joy, good mood and all those things. But we can do it the other way round. We can work ourselves into joy, into cheerful mood, and watch our health improving.
Work Up Cheerful Mood
At this point you might ask the HOW question. Yes, how to actually work yourself into great mood if the life as such is crap?
But is it really? Well, this will look differently when you start your career as a fool, as Norbekov’s idiot. You will see all of a sudden many fantastic things around you that outweigh by far all the sad things. Only while you are smart, clever, intelligent, knowing-it-all, you simply can’t see the good things. Ironically, small children see those things and don’t hesitate to savor. But the grown wise men, they can’t. So you need to become an idiot, you need to start seeing the world as children do. You will be surprised what an endless multitude of fantastic breathtaking things you have around you. And above all, there will be the fact that you are alive!
You are alive! You have Life inside you. You are in a clever, highly intelligent World. Beautiful colors, beautiful patterns, things that are delicious, colors and smells that are healing. What can outweigh that? What can outweigh the fact alone that you are alive?
What if you just focus on these things? Do you need more hints on how to work yourself into great mood?
Here are a few samples of the thinking patterns that I use. I use them not only when I need to get myself out of a dismal state. I try to remember to use them daily to maintain the good shape.
The Sick Know-All’s
Then there is the other group, the sick that know all things. They know well that the life is all crap. Even if their situation is not that bad, they know it will be worse. That’s why they are sad, angry, depressed. Their mood is below their physical state.
Those people are chronically sick, they never get well. When they go to doctors, they don’t look for health. Prof. Norbekov puts it like this: they come for the doctor’s soul. Can you see what he means? I think I can.
Works For Me
So I took this, what I think, the most important, the most liberating decision of my lifetime. I chose deliberately … to be a fool. A happy fool whose mood is always above the physical condition, above the circumstances, above the judgement of others, above what can be grasped by human mind. I decided to be the cheerful fool regardless of a rainy day, depressing factors, criticism, you name it.
Being a cheerful fool works for me extremely well. I have forgotten what it means to be sick. I have all confidence that if I fall sick some day, then it won’t last long. In most cases, I will be well again by the end of the day.
An Example Of How Well It Works
Once I had a challenge that kept me by the computer screen all through the night till 5 A.M. I felt some bad strain in my eyes. Before I went to bed, I dipped my face in a bowl of cold water and kept it for a while trying to alleviate the nasty feel.
When I woke, I had a clear sign that some bad headache was on its way. Earlier, I was unable to break this condition without strong pain killers.
I was really sad. For a moment, it seemed that my old headache had returned. I used to have really bad headache once or twice a week, and it was only pain killer medicine that was able to get me out of the torture.
After I pushed the “button”, after I took the important decision, the headache disappeared along with many other issues. I had even managed to forget how bad it feels. But now it was – coming back!
I was really sad. I was in a bad mood, perhaps the worst since my decision. My hope of forever getting rid of headache was about to collapse.
But then I remembered that I was an idiot, and that idiots don’t go in bad mood. I quickly used all my techniques to work myself into cheerfulness. I stopped worrying. I allowed myself to celebrate Life despite the bad feeling in my head.
And, guess what! Very soon I realized that the headache, even though it was still present, was not a hindrance anymore for feeling good. First, I was able to feel good even with some headache still being present. It was possible to – forget it.
And when, after a while, I remembered that I had had headache, it was gone completely.
Being an idiot does me so much good! I think it can do the same to you. Would you give it a try?
If It Does Not Work When You Try
What was said above should be universally applicable. But if it does not work for you, then you certainly need to check whether you can find something that kills your joy. It can be mere tiredness. It is extremely difficult to feel Joy when you are tired. You have to rest.
But there may be some mental issues, too. Typically it may be failing to love yourself and other people, unforgiving, revenge plans, hate against somebody or something, lack of integrity and other – I should call them sins. If you maintain something of that kind, then it may be even difficult to get a good rest, a good sleep.
Your situation is unique, and it is only you who can take it up and sort with yourself. But for the ideas about what kind of evil that can be, you can read more articles on this site, especially in Joy Killers section.
